Rings of Power
00:43
|
|||
Three rings for the elven kings, under the sky,
Seven for the dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for mortal men doomed to die,
One for the dark Lord on his dark throne.
In the Land of Mordor, where the Shadows lie
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie

We Must Away
04:46
|
|||
Bilbo is gone in a blinding flash of light
to find again peace and good fortune,
in the mountains where a journey had led him.
His cousin Frodo is staying alone in the Shire,
among the hobbits and old Gandalf the Wizard,
with a home and a ring as a memory.
It’s a long story that started years ago
In which Shadow and Light fought about Power
And this time…
it’s the Shadow which has risen.
With foes ahead, behind us dread
Beneath the Sky shall be our bed,
Until at last our tail be passed
Our Journey done, our errand sped.
We must away ! We must away !
We ride before the break of day !
One day Gandalf told Frodo-the-heir the story
One day and one night it lasted
The object is the Ring, its strength,
its rule over the people.
Frodo has gone to the boundaries
Of the Shire
amongst his friends on whom he depends
Sam, Merry and Pippin
With foes ahead, behind us dread
Beneath the Sky shall be our bed,
Until at last our tail be passed
Our Journey done, our errand sped.
We must away ! We must away !
We ride before the break of day !
On the road to the old forest they met Elves, Black Riders
and Tom Bombadil the merry fellow.
The Quest has started, it’s only the beginning.
With foes ahead, behind us dread
Beneath the Sky shall be our bed,
Until at last our tail be passed
Our Journey done, our errand sped.
We must away ! We must away !
We ride before the break of day !

Fellowship of the Ring
05:41
|
|||
There is the one who was fated to receive the Ring
brought back by Bilbo.
Gandalf has convinced him to destroy it.
On the road to Rivendell he and his mates
fought the Old Forest, the Barrow-wights,
and ran away the hunt of the dark horsemen.
The Fellowship of the Ring has gathered at last,
They’ve come on all sides of the Middle-earth,
Frodo, Gandalf, Elves, Dwarves and Men.
They must take away the Ring and will be nine to defy the Shadow.
There are those who know the country
Its ancient history and all the stake,
They know the Ring and watched over it :
Aragorn « Strider » and Gandalf the Wizard
Have looked after hobbits
And have prepared the way for the great journey.
The Fellowship of the Ring has gathered at last,
They’ve come on all sides of the Middle-earth,
Frodo, Gandalf, Elves, Dwarves and Men.
They must take away the Ring and will be nine to defy the Shadow.
There are those who know the fate of the land
They’re the actors of the story,
The Dwarves led by Gloin,
The Elves from Lorien,
They’ve already defeated Sauron
And taken his Ring,
But the Dark Lord is back,
His spies and troops are travelling
through the country
seeking the piece of absolute power.
The Fellowship of the Ring has gathered at last,
They’ve come on all sides of the Middle-earth,
Frodo, Gandalf, Elves, Dwarves and Men.
They must take away the Ring and will be nine to defy the Shadow.
All of them have called nine valorous soldiers
To launch upon the great journey,
The one which must ensure the freedom of the Middle-earth,
when the Dark Lord has really disappeared.
But to achieve this feat, they must travel
through thousands perils, divert thousands of eyes
and come in silence to the Fire-mountain.
The Fellowship of the Ring has gathered at last,
They’ve come on all sides of the Middle-earth,
Frodo, Gandalf, Elves, Dwarves and Men.
They must take away the Ring and will be nine to defy the Shadow.

Battle Into Moria
04:42
|
|||
The Fellowship of the Ring has gone south
Searching a passage to bring the Ring
to Orodruin, the Doom-mountain.
Other mountains are on the way,
The maleficent Caradhras
Which forbid the crossing to anyone who wants to force it.
Winds, snow and cold have gathered
To prevent the travellers
From climbing higher the perfidious mount.
So Gandalf leads his company through mysterious tunnels into the deep Moria,
a subterranean world which was the dwarves’ kingdom before they were chased out.
Into Moria, deep and gloomy,
The drum-beat comes from the warriors Orcs
For those who ‘ve entered the trap is set,
They have to fight to see the light back.
« Far below the deepest delvings of the Dwarves,
The world is gnawed by nameless things.»
Despite their cautious silence,
The nine are noticed, hunted and fought
by the countless armies of Orcs and trolls.
The fierceness of (the) defence dismays the monsters
But these are numerous and supported
by a strange, huge and powerful creature.
Into Moria, deep and gloomy,
The drum-beat comes from the warriors Orcs
For those who ‘ve entered the trap is set,
They have to fight to see the light back.
« Far below the deepest delvings of the Dwarves,
The world is gnawed by nameless things.»
The nine are going on the flight
But the end of the battle is near to come
A Balrog appears suddenly,
A dark figure streaming with fire,
Its wings are spreading from wall to wall
Into the great cave.
Then Gandalf the Wizard decides to face
The tremendous beast with flaming sword.
The shock of the titans is colossal.
As a blinding sheet of white flame springs up,
They fall together into the abyss.
The Fellowship run outside of Moria…
Into Moria, deep and gloomy,
The drum-beat comes from the warriors Orcs
For those who ‘ve entered the trap is set,
They have to fight to see the light back.
« Far below the deepest delvings of the Dwarves,
The world is gnawed by nameless things.»

Nazgul
03:34
|
|||
When night is falling
And darkness’ rising
We spread our wings
To reach the dusk
Blacker than the pits in the night,
We fly in the deep space.
Invisible to the mortals
But striking terror into their hearts.
The Dark Lord commands us,
His voice is our strength
And ours is our weapon,
Malicious, malevolent and horrible.
Bringing ruin
Turning hope to despair
And victory to death
Our claws tear bodies
Our cries destroy spirits
Our ominous voices tear the sky
And sow terror,
Our cries disarm the enemy, who
is imploring compassion.
Hide, crawl and die,
You who claim to defy us,
Your corpse will nourish us later,
Like these fell meats the Lord nursed us with.
Bringing ruin
Turning hope to despair
And victory to death
Our claws tear bodies
Our cries destroy spirits

Galadriel Song
01:24
|

I perceive the dark lord
I comprehend his mind
Ever groping
To see my thought
But still the door is closed
Be hold the light.
Nenya is this ring
Unbreakable
That I possess

The Eye Upon The World
05:06
|
|||
Up there, on Amon Hen, the Hill of the Eye, the seat of Seeing, is
standing.
The world seems to be a map : Eastward there are wide uncharted lands,
Northward the Great River, Westward, Rohan and Isenguard
Southward, the falls of Rauros near the eternal sea.
The world peace is disturbed by some signs :
Orcs become excited in the Misty Mountains,
Smoke’s rising on the border of Lorien, a cloud is over Moria
Warships are invading the seas armies are coming from the east.
Since you went up on Amon Hen,
Climbing hundred steps to the seat of Seeing,
Since the World is offered to your eyes,
Face the vision of the rising war…
While Minas Tirith, powerful and proud, defends men in its white towers,
Spitefulness is growing closer.
Osgiliath, Minas morgul, the valley of Gorgoroth,
Are grinning with hate and preparing their troops.
But how little are they compared to Barâd dur, the Fortress of Sauron.
Behind the iron walls and the steel gates,
His heart consumed by a boiling hate and his thirst for Power,
He, the Lord, is leading his countless armies to the war.
Since you went up on Amon Hen,
Climbing hundred steps to the seat of Seeing,
Since the World is offered to your eyes,
Face the vision of the rising war…

Helm's Deep
06:03
|
|||
Near the walls, black shapes
Are bailing and crawling
Some are squat and broad, others tall and grim
With high helms and sable shields.
Hundreds and hundreds more are pouring,
The dark tide is flowing up to the walls.
Thunder rolls in the valley
Rain comes lashing down,
It’s a great field of dark corn tossed by a tempest of war
And every ear glints with barbed light.
Arise now, arise, Riders of Theoden !
Dire deeds awake, dark is it eastward.
Let horse be bridled, horn be sounded !
Forth Eorlingas !
It’s only a brief despite,
The hosts of Isengard are roaring against the Wall,
Orcs and hillmen are swarming about
Its feet from end to end.
The men of Rohan have grown weary,
The swords are notched and shields are riven.
Suddenly a gaping hole is blasted in the wall :
the fire of Orthanc.
The last assault comes sweeping like a dark wave,
The defence is swept away and must go towards the citadel.
Arise now, arise, Riders of Theoden !
Dire deeds awake, dark is it eastward.
Let horse be bridled, horn be sounded !
Forth Eorlingas !
At last the dawn comes.
And then, sudden and terrible,
The sound of Helm’s horn rings out.
Back from the depths come the echoes,
As if a mighty herald stood on every cliff :
Helm has arisen and comes back to war.
The riders charge like wind across the grass,
Neither orc nor man withstands them,
Victory !
The Orcs reel, scream and cast aside
both sword and spear as they flee.
Arise now, arise, Riders of Theoden !
Dire deeds awake, dark is it eastward.
Let horse be bridled, horn be sounded !
Forth Eorlingas !

Shelob's Lair
05:15
|
|||
Frodo and Sam followed Gollum
A wretched creature who wanted the Ring
And had been spying them endlessly
Since their departure.
He showed the way through Ephel Duat,
a dark tunnel called Torech Ungol,
At the top of the Mountains.
The smell around is a foul reek, but there’s only this way.
In this lightless blind and stenched hole, the notion of time sense is vanishing.
For eternity, for the Dark Years, long before Sauron, Barad-dûr and the Ring,
Shelob the great, last child of Ungoliant, get some preys and drink the blood of Elves and Men
Torech Ungol, awful nest, its the den it dwells,
Where its eyes are glowing waiting for the traveller…
Out of this comes an intense lurking malice,
« There’s something here » thinks Frodo.
Suddenly he hears a gurgling and long venomous hiss :
Still as stones do the hobbits stand,
Something horrible creaks in the dark.
Only its eyes can they see, monstrous and abominable,
bestial and filled with the hideous delight to get another prey,
for they’re trapped.
Horrible beyond the horror of an evil dream.
Its great bulk is black, blotched with livid marks,
Its legs are bent, with great knobbed joints
High above its back, a huge, remorseless and demonic spider.
Awful Shelob (has) run on Frodo,
To hit and paralyse its prey.
Samwise the hobbit, Hamfast’s son,
is now on the path.
His glass blazes suddenly, flaming like a star
His elven-sword wounds the beasts.
Shrunken in defeat Shelob flees.

At Journey's End
06:20
|
|||
Through here at journey’s end , I lie in darkness buried deep,
Beyond all towers strong and high, Beyond all mountains steep,
Above all shadows rides the sun , And Stars for ever dwell :
I will not say the day is done, Nor bid the Stars farewell.
Frodo and Sam are going weary miles on the hard cruel road
That leads to the Dark Tower
For the hobbits each day, each mile is more bitter than the one before.
as their strength lessens and the land becomes more evil.
Frodo’s sleep is uneasy, full of dreams of fire,
And waking brings him no comfort.
He’s walking half-bowed, often stumbling,
As if his eyes no longer saw the way before his feet.
Through here at journey’s end I lie in darkness buried deep,
Beyond all towers strong and high,Beyond all mountains steep,
Above all shadows rides the sun,And Stars for ever dwell :
I will not say the day is done,Nor bid the Stars farewell.
He bears the worst pain, as the weight of the Ring grows near Orodruin,
Dream and waking mingle : here come lights
Like gloating eyes, and dark creeping shades,
And the dreadful cries of tortured things in a world all dark. Blackness all about him.
Through here at journey’s end I lie in darkness buried deep,
Beyond all towers strong and high,Beyond all mountains steep,
Above all shadows rides the sun, And Stars for ever dwell :
I will not say the day is done, Nor bid the Stars farewell.
The last stage of their journey comes, their will did not yield and they struggle on.
The huge mass of ash and slag is standing in front of them.
Sam ‘s carrying staggering Frodo the Ring must climb the steep slope
Going to the furnace, by the door of the Sammath Naur.
And the Ring’s perfidy, corrupting Frodo,
Is nothing when its last victim : Gollum
Tears it away with Frodo’s Finger,
and falls into the volcano’s mouth.
Through here at journey’s end I lie in darkness buried deep,
Beyond all towers strong and high, Beyond all mountains steep,
Above all shadows rides the sun And Stars for ever dwell :
I will not say the day is done, Nor bid the Stars farewell.

The Final Triumph
07:33
|
|||
The Third Age has ended,
The Days of the Ring are gone,
The Ring-bearers, Elrond bearing Vilya,
Galadriel Nenya, Gandalf Narya
are now together with Bilbo and Frodo.
For it’s now time to go to the Grey Haven in the long firth of Lune,
On the shores of the sea comes the end of the Fellowship of the Ring
« I will not say : do not weep ; for not all tears are evil »
The final Triumph had happened at last. The Dark Lord has fallen
And the Shadow has vanished, defeated by the Light.
The One Ring has fallen
in the depths of Orodruin the Fire-mountain.
Let’s sing Frodo’s feat : the mighty Barad-dûr is destroyed
As well as the mountain-throne, its towers and ramparts made of steel and adamant.
The dungeons, the prisons sheer as cliffs, all has crashed down below a black rain.
Sauron saw his power falling in the volcano
It was too late for the Nazgûls to help him.
The final Triumph had happened at last. The Dark Lord has fallen
And the Shadow has vanished, defeated by the Light.
The Eye of Sauron had never known
about the dim course of Frodo.
Let’s sing warriors’ feat, from Rohan, from Gondor, with Aragorn as the king,
For their furious battle of the Pelennor fields against the multitude of Sauron’s barbarians.
Men sang as they slew, the joy of fighting was in them,
And the sound of their singing was fair and terrible.
The final Triumph had happened at last. The Dark Lord has fallen
And the Shadow has vanished, defeated by the Light.
An the King came back Aragorn
Leader of Men in the Middle-earth
When all’s said and done, the New Age will triumph over the trial of evil
And over the forces of doubt by going over the Ring and its malevolent power
A world of signs, mysteries and drama is dying out
With the Ring, its dark Lord, and other evil spells.
Now it’s time to give peace to Hobbits and to Men,
to the living in the Shire and in the Middle-earth.
The final Triumph had happened at last. The Dark Lord has fallen
And the Shadow has vanished, defeated by the Light.
The heroes of the Ring can rest in peace
They’ve bequeathed a free world.
